We have added about 400 sheets of the German 1:100,00 Grossblatt /
Einheitsblatt maps from the Library of Congress. Because
their collection is big, and time in the library was short, we only
managed to scan the last editions, usually dated 1945, from the area
west of the Oder river. Anything east of the Oder line has been scanned
to complement missing editions in mapster. Unfortunately, at one point,
the scanner, quietly, took an executive decision to save scans in
highly compressed pdf format, so several sheets from the Baltic states
turned out to be of poor quality. We will scan them, 'if and when' (no
specific timescales though).
Several of the sheets from the area of Poland and Belarus, dated late
1945 / beginning of 1945 are probably the last editions of those sheets
ever produced.
All maps scanned at 600 dpi, so jpg files are 50 - 70 Mb.
