From the map collection of Uniwersytet ÅšlÄ…ski again, about 70 sheets of
a German "soil
evaluation map" (Bodenschätzungskarte) in 1:25, 000 scale, dated 1940 –
1943 which covers the area of western
Poland, annexed by the Reich in late 1939.
From our own collections, we have added 13
sheets of detailed plans of Danzig / Gdańsk
(so-called Geländeplan), scale 1:2500, and one sheet of
1:5000. It's more than likely that Danzig was covered by
well over 100 sheets. We will try to identify libraries and archives where
other sheets might be stored, in order to make them available.
And, a bit of personal touch on the subject of WIG - two
photographs of (mainly military) personnel, probably dated 1930s. No
1 and No
2.
